TAPPING INSTRUCTIONS
THINK
You can tap for a specific pain, emotion, memory or any negative thought. Think or visualize a specific aspect of your issue. How intense/important is the problem now? Rate it on a scale of 0 to 10. (0=everything is fine; 10=as bad as it can be)
ACCEPT YOURSELF
-Tap with your fingers, on the KARATE CHOP (side of hand, see above) and say: ‘Even though I have this <pain, emotion, thought*> I deeply and completely accept myself.’ (And even if I don’t accept myself, I want to accept myself)
CLEAR
-Tap on the points below (about 7 times on each point) and say:
This <pain, emotion, thought*>
YOU TAP ON THE SAME POINTS FOR ANY PROBLEM.
1. Top of Head (tap on top of head)
2. Beginning of Eye Brow
3. Side of Eye
4. Under Eye
5. Under Nose
6. Above Chin
7. Collar Bone
8. Under Arm
REPEAT (Think-Accept-Clear)
-Think: How intense in the problem now? (Scale of 0 to 10)
-Accept-Clear: Repeat tapping procedure a few more times, changing the words as new thoughts come to mind, until the problem seems much easier.
CLEAR ‘REMAINING PROBLEM’
-Think: How intense in the problem now? (Scale of 0 to 10)
-Accept: Tap on Karate Chop and say: ‘Even though I still have this <pain, emotion, thought>* I deeply and completely accept myself.’
-Clear: Tap and at each point say: ‘this remaining problem’, or say ‘The rest of this <pain, emotion, thought>’*
EXAMPLES of PHRASES TO USE: Use the words that pop into your head. My right big toe is infected (hurts)/ I hate it when…/ I am(was) so angry/frustrated/unhappy because…/ My teacher embarrassed me in class when I was ten/ I feel tension in my stomach(chest).
* Insert the specific words/phrases for your issue. Allow the words to change as your thoughts shift.

EMERGENCY TAPPING
Just tap on any of the points to feel better when you are feeling pain, anxiety, anger, or some other strong emotion:
Say, “I’m OK”, or say nothing at all and keep tapping any of the points until you feel calmer and more centered.
What points do I use for...?
We use the same points to activate our inner system, no matter what the issue, or where we feel it in the body.
Any acupuncture points are fine to use. In addition to the ones listed on this page, other common points used in EFT are: top of head (crown), wrist points (inner and outer), around the knees, and ankles.
